first pitching appearance plunks

Over the weekend, frequent commenter DM asked if anyone had ever hit Craig Biggio with a pitch in their first pitching appearance. There have been 3. Juan Acevedo on April 30, 1995, Andy Larkin on September 29, 1996, and Mark Brownson on July 21, 1998. All 3 were in Houston and all 3 were appearing as starting pitchers. No pitcher has ever struck Biggio with a pitch in their first career relief appearance (including pitchers who had previously been starters), and no pitcher has even plunked Biggio in his first career start when he had previously seen work out of the bullpen.

144 wins and 111 losses. They're 130-105 when Biggio gets hit once, and 14-6 in games in which he's been hit twice. The Astros overall record from 1988 to today is 1424-1277 so the plunk games win pct of 0.565 is quite a bit better than the overall 0.527.

okay, this post begs the question... has anyone ever plunked Craig with their first pitch in the major leagues? How about with their first pitch in a game (I KNOW that's happened a few times)...

Excellent question. Just the one I would have asked...but probably very hard to answer.

Yeah, I haven't researched very far into pitch-by-pitch game logs, mostly because they don't exist online for games before 2002 or 2001 as far as I can find. There's still that big 1993-1999 gap where I can't even find inning by inning data.
I could look into first pitch plunks in the past 5 years maybe. Off the top of my head, I know of this game in which Chad Bradford plunked Biggio on his ONLY pitch of the game.
