Labor day weekend notes

The Cards had 13 innings to try to plunk Biggio last night, and still couldn't get it done. But at least the Astros finally got the win.
Chris Carpenter pitches today for St. Louis. He delivered plunk 242 last year on April 14th, so delivering number 272 today would be a nice addition to his resume. Biggio was plunked on September 3, 2003 by Kevin Brown, but never before or since on this date.
On Sunday, Jason Marquis pitches for the Cards, but he has never plunked Biggio. On Monday the Astros travel to the Philladelphia for a crucial wild card matchup, facing Brett Myers who has also never plunked Biggio.
On September 4, 1995 Mark Portugal hit Craig Biggio with a pitch, and Xavier Hernandez hit him again the following day. Those plunks in back to back games represent Biggio's only September 4th and 5th HBPs.
