the lost plunk

Well, I can't say it didn't occur to me that this might happen, but I'm still going to commission a team of genealogists to establish whether or not Doug Eddings and Tommie Tucker are related. Eddings has, by the way, award first base to Biggio on plunks 3 times in his career. Then again, maybe there's some kind of espn.com article on being fundamentally sound jinx like the SI cover curse. I still think if pitchers are going to continue to use inside pitches as intimidation, batters should get to stand there and not be intimidated, and if pitchers are going to continue to suck so much that they occasionally throw a fastball off a batters arm, batters should continue to get to protect their career with a protective arm guard.
And, while people in the game are doing things I've actively discouraged here, the Astros continued their quest to move Roger Clemens to dead last in the league in run support, but somehow he actually moved up to 93rd. He's only 7th from last though, so a few pitchers dropped off the bottom of the list.
The Astros get a day off today, and Biggio has never been hit on August 29th.

Wait, are you saying Jason Jennings ISN'T going to win the Cy Young Award? Inconceivable.
