victory... sort of.
MLB.com appears to have fixed Craig Biggio's HBP stats, so they now have the correct total for last season (17) and the correct career total (279). Their all time list is correct once again.
In case you missed it, there was an error on the MLB.com site that appeared to have given Chris Burke's stats for a Pirates game last season to Biggio. Check here for where I first noticed it. Confusion reigned for much of the season, and enough people asked why the total listed here didn't match the total on MLB.com that I had to add an explaination on the right hand side bar. They have since corrected the box score for that game as well as the plunk total and the other stats involved.
I'm sure the Chris Burke HBP website is just as excited about gaining that extra plunk, which was rightfully his all along, and now I can return the bruise board to it's original look, without the longwinded explaination of another site's error. Thanks for fixing that MLB.com!

Do you have any idea why MLB finally got around to fixing their error? Can you claim any credit?
No idea. But can I claim credit anyway and become one of those self-important bloggers who will claim dominion over the thoughts of the universe or something?
I'd guess probably Cletus did something with a chicken and scrabble tiles and that somehow fixed it.
amen, brother, preach on!
