Rockies win, Astros move on to Chicago (A)
Craig Biggio got the day off yesterday, except for a pinch hit appearance in the 8th inning, in which he did not get plunked. The Astros had a 2 run lead at the time, but unfortunately, they couldn't hang on to it. Colorado scored 3 in the bottom of the 9th to win 7-6.
Tonight, the Astros travel to the land of designated hitters - the American League. They'll face the Chicago Whitesox, their old north coast rivals from the 2005 World Series, which brought the north coast/south coast baseball rivalry to new heights. Either that or it was over so quickly nobody got a chance to develop a decent sense of rivalry. Tonights scheduled starter is rookie John Danks. He's hit two batters so far in his first season in the league, which is as many plunks as Craig Biggio has recorded on June 8th.
Jose "Don't call me Ponce" Deleon plunked Biggio 14 years ago today, on June 8, 1993 at Veterans Stadium. Alan Mills threw plunk number 164, 7 years ago today, on June 8, 2000 at Dodger Stadium.

I don't get to read your website everyday, so you may have already touched on this, but once again Biggio didn't wear his arm guard the other day, you have any rhyme, reason, or thought. It started out he took it off for lefties a couple of times, the other day he had it off against a righty.
It's a mystery. Either he's decided not to get hit anymore, or at least until he's got the 3000 hits, or he's decided it's bothering his swing or something.
