White Sox notes and runs after plunks

Tonight's opponents, the Chicago White Sox, have hit 903 batters since 1988, and 163 of those plunks have been thrown on Fridays. That makes Friday the White Sox favorite day of the week to hit batters, with Saturday a close second with 159. But in interleague games, Saturday has been their favorite day to plunk. The White Sox pitchers have hit 17 National League batters on Saturday (including Craig Biggio), but Friday is in second place with 14 interleague batters plunked by the White Sox. However, the White Sox have never hit a Houston Astro on Friday.

The White Sox have hit Craig Biggio with a pitch twice, but he didn't score a run after reaching base on either of those plunkings. That gives the White Sox the distinction of being the only team who has plunked Biggio more than once, but has never let him score a run after one of them.

Here's the complete team by team plunk list with runs scored*:
TeamHBP:BGORuns after plunks
Rockies3211
Cardinals279
Pirates227
Reds218
Giants1911
Cubs198
Mets186
Marlins177
Brewers176
Expos/Nats154

Dodgers124
D-backs113
Braves81
Rangers52
Royals31
Orioles21
White Sox20
Indians11
Twins10
Yankees10

Only 3 teams have ever plunked Biggio three times before he scored a run off one of those plunks. He didn't score after an HBP against the Braves until the 4th time they hit him. The Cardinals plunked Biggio 4 times before he score on the 5th one, and the Padres somehow kept Biggio from scoring the first 10 times they hit him with a pitch. But eight teams (the Mets, Giants, Cubs, Phillies, Marlins, Dodgers, Indians and Ranger) were made to pay for plunking Biggio, in the form of a run scored, the first time they ever hit him. Three more (the Royals, Orioles and Brewers) saw him score the 2nd time they hit him, and five teams gave up their first plunk related run to Biggio on the third time they hit him (the Expos, Reds, Pirates, Rockies and Diamondbacks).

The Whitesox have given up 6 runs to the 16 batters they put on base with a plunk this season, but only one of them occured on a Friday.
